Pre-high school: I ran a lot of local 5ks and a few half marathons.  I didn't do a ton of training, but I just had fun, and I got more serious about it as high school got closer.

High school: I enjoyed running a lot, especially cross country.  I originally did track to keep my in shape for cross country.  I ran at Footlocker Nationals, the Adidas Dream mile, Brooks PR Invitational, world xc junior championships, and a few local 5ks.

Personal:

I recently returned from serving a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ghana.  I gained 30 lbs. during the service and came back out of shape. I graduated from Sky View High School in Smithfield, Utah. AM-5 easy miles with clayton and Clayson.

PM-5 mile tempo in pairs(just running with one other person). Ran with Rory and worked on staying relaxed. 24:11, felt smooth. His shoe was untied for miles 3, 4, and 5, but we just kept going.

AM-4.1 easy miles with Michael.

PM- 2X(mile, 1200, 800) at intramural field.  The distances we ran changed due to the fact that GPS watches and the measured out course were pretty different.  According to the GPS watches, we went through the miles in 4:33 and 4:30, 1200s were about the same pace, and 800s were a decent amount quicker.  It felt good.  Pretty hard, but it was a great workout.  Jogged 400m in between reps.  We had a strong pack in there, so that was good to see.

An interesting thing I've been pleasantly surprised with is how usually as the season is winding down, I'm really tired and don't look forward to racing or working out, I usualy can't wait for taper weeks because then I can run easier workouts.  This season is a bit different, as I look forward to workouts and races.

Long run. Went up hobble creek canyon to the top of a mountain and then down another road. Cold, hilly, but a good run.
