Pre-high school: I ran a lot of local 5ks and a few half marathons.  I didn't do a ton of training, but I just had fun, and I got more serious about it as high school got closer.

High school: I enjoyed running a lot, especially cross country.  I originally did track to keep my in shape for cross country.  I ran at Footlocker Nationals, the Adidas Dream mile, Brooks PR Invitational, world xc junior championships, and a few local 5ks.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Make sure I have fun, not get burned out, and get faster.

School records in the 5km and 10km.

Personal:

Served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints from July 2015-July 2017.  I gained 30 lbs. during the service and came back out of shape; however I knew that if the Lord wanted me to once again run competitively, he would bless me to return to fitness.

I graduated from Sky View High School in Smithfield, Utah. I currently run for Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.

8 miles. Warmed up a bit with the team, then cut back to the track with a Montana kid (kyreal I think.  I probably spelled it way wrong.) before the workout.  We did 4X400m at 1:03 and 1:04 for the last one(He was usually 1:01-1:03).  Goal was to keep it pretty easy, at about 1:07, but for some reason I just didn't want to slow down during the workout, and since it was pretty easy compared to other workouts, we just ran it without really caring. Cool down after.

1.25 mile warm up, then 3X(200m at 3200m pace, 200m sprint) with full recovery.  It was supposed to be a pretty easy workout, but I struggled. I felt very flat on the warm up, and just couldn't get going. Kyreal(I suck at spelling names) came again and helped me out.  We usually were too fast on the first 200m, but our last 200m was still good.  I ran 60s on all of them, with a 32 start and 28 finish on the first two, and 33 start, and 27 finish on the last one.  Kyreal usually finished in 26.0, but he was running in lane 2, so that was pretty crazy.  He's run 49.2 and 1:56.0, so that explains why I couldn't keep up with him at all.  Cool down after.

5 "easy" miles. I had some knee pain yesterday, then a lot of achiellies pain today.  I was almost dying to run a 6:50 pace with the group.  After 2.5 miles I felt better and was able to get into the groove without any achiellies or knee pain.

5 miles with 9 strides thrown during them. I felt a little lazy, like you do after you take time off.  The strides were good though, and I feel like they'll help me keep on my toes this week.
