Pre-high school: I ran a lot of local 5ks and a few half marathons.  I didn't do a ton of training, but I just had fun, and I got more serious about it as high school got closer.

High school: I enjoyed running a lot, especially cross country.  I originally did track to keep my in shape for cross country.  I ran at Footlocker Nationals, the Adidas Dream mile, Brooks PR Invitational, world xc junior championships, and a few local 5ks.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Make sure I have fun, not get burned out, and get faster.

School records in the 5km and 10km.

Personal:

Served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints from July 2015-July 2017.  I gained 30 lbs. during the service and came back out of shape; however I knew that if the Lord wanted me to once again run competitively, he would bless me to return to fitness.

I graduated from Sky View High School in Smithfield, Utah. I currently run for Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.

Was at Lake Powell with the the young men in our ward.  The last few days I was sore from the half marathon.  I felt better today so I thought it would be good to go for a run.

It felt good to run, but it was very hot even if it was in the morning.  At the middle of the day it was 89 degrees in the shade.

I saw a lot of rabbits I counted 12, ten cottontails and two jack rabbits.  They were mostly all alive :-).  It felt good to run again.

Ran today again at Lake Powell.  It felt good, but felt harder than yesterday's run. Hotter than yesterday because I ran later in the day.

Had a good run for the first 4 miles.  After that I started getting dehydrated and I felt a little weak, (probably because I didn't have dinner yesterday or breakfast today.)  I ran a little later.

I saw my dad a little before my turn around point and later caught up to him.  I also saw Paul running up the canyon when I was running down.  At my last mile I stopped to take a break--I had a small stomach ache, was dehyrdrated, and my calfes were a little beat up.  When my dad caught up, I ran a little with him to start up again and later speed back up.
