Running Accomplishments:

Pre-high school: I ran a lot of local 5ks and a few half marathons.  I didn't do a ton of training, but I just had fun, and I got more serious about it as high school got closer.

High school: I enjoyed running a lot, especially cross country.  I originally did track to keep my in shape for cross country.  I ran at Footlocker Nationals, the Adidas Dream mile, Brooks PR Invitational, world xc junior championships, and a few local 5ks.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Make sure I have fun, not get burned out, and get faster.

School records in the 5km and 10km.

Personal:

Served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints from July 2015-July 2017.  I gained 30 lbs. during the service and came back out of shape; however I knew that if the Lord wanted me to once again run competitively, he would bless me to return to fitness.

I graduated from Sky View High School in Smithfield, Utah. I currently run for Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.

The night before, I felt terrible.  Sick with a sore throat, and a stuffy nose.  I think I drank two liters in the middle of the night.  I didn't think I could even do well at all today.  Sure, when people encouraged me it helped, but I still felt like crap.  I was seeded 12th in my race of 15, and I had only ran a time under 4:33 once.  I saw some of the people in my heat were going to be fun to run with, like a bunch of the Davis guys, Jake, Tyler, Tyson Boyer,  Mack Morrison, Ben Sarrell, and a bunch more.  I wasn't going into this race with a strategy planned out before, but I did the same as my 3200.  I got a long drink and soaked my head in water before right before the start.  Then we went off, and of course no one pushed the 2nd 100 again, so of course I just went out and led it.  I stayed in the lead for the first two laps, with a first 800 of 2:11, and then got passed a few times, and passed some people.  I had a good 200m sprint at the end by passing a person or two.  I PRed again, with a time of 4:22, so I know my 800 split wasn't too fast.  Tyler got qualified officially in the mile, but he ran the mile after his 800 time of 1:56.04., Also we got to run with a bunch of really fast guys, so it was a pretty good race.

Conner - WOW - I'm not shocked b/c you have been consistently been running so well all year, but 4:22 is still a smoking fast time! Congrats man!
