Pre-high school: I ran a lot of local 5ks and a few half marathons.  I didn't do a ton of training, but I just had fun, and I got more serious about it as high school got closer.

High school: I enjoyed running a lot, especially cross country.  I originally did track to keep my in shape for cross country.  I ran at Footlocker Nationals, the Adidas Dream mile, Brooks PR Invitational, world xc junior championships, and a few local 5ks.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Make sure I have fun, not get burned out, and get faster.

School records in the 5km and 10km.

Personal:

Served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints from July 2015-July 2017.  I gained 30 lbs. during the service and came back out of shape; however I knew that if the Lord wanted me to once again run competitively, he would bless me to return to fitness.

I graduated from Sky View High School in Smithfield, Utah. I currently run for Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.

5.5- track.  We did a 4 mile tempo run today, and coach has been having us use these VDot Charts (which were made by Jack Danials I think) to figure out where we should be running these workouts.  My pace was a 5:09 for this workout.  I thought that was going to be impossible, but it actually wasn't too hard to hit.  The course wasn't too hard, very few turns, not a lot of elevation change, so I'm not too surprised thinkin about it afterward.  Splits:5:05.7(uphill), 5:15(uphill, then downhill), 5:12.8(downhill) , 5:03.3(flat).  I averaged just over a 5:09, so it was right where I needed to be.  I felt good, adn this far into the week hopefully means I'm used to the milage now.  Now pretty soon it'll be coming back down.

Great training lately Conner. You are really hitting these longer efforts well. Its not easy to hold that kind of pace for longer tempo runs. They are going to give you the strength to crack 9 minutes in the 2-mile.

Conner,

Hi. I calculated the VDOT scores for various bloggers including yourself. I put you in the list a while back. I calculated yours to be VDOT 70. I could be off on this of course. I simply based it on the various stats bloggers had posted about. Here is the link if you are interested. http://prefontaine.fastrunningblog.com/blog--/11-12-2012.html
